Training & Consultation for Therapists

Upcoming Training - Online Live May 3, 2021

To Record or Not to Record for web _To Record

The one transtheoretical practice that will revolutionize your work in any model.

(Seriously. I'm not even kidding.)

Course Description

Continuing Education

Despite the vast benefits of recording sessions, many therapists balk at implementing this technique. Once implemented, the long-term benefits of recording sessions greatly outweigh any initial awkwardness.

This four-hour training is specifically designed to explore the clinical benefits of video recording sessions and to help therapists overcome barriers to incorporating video recording into their practice. We will explore multiple aspects of this valuable therapeutic and learning tool, including the benefits to both therapists and clients, how to best utilize recordings, possible contraindications for recording client sessions, and answering client questions about recording sessions. Participants will learn how to use session recordings to increase their affect tolerance, identify their growth edge and improve competency, and work with countertransference. In this interactive course participants will explore their own vulnerabilities related to recording sessions and practice discussing the technique with clients. Although the training includes some didactic instruction, participants should come prepared to engage in role-plays and practice using video recordings to build affect tolerance. The course size is limited to 30 participants.

Participants will not be provided with any legal recommendations or advice. Participants should contact their own licensing boards, liability insurance company, and/or legal representation regarding consent, liability, HIPAA, and any legal and ethical issues related to recording client sessions.
